ICC have today announced the completion of the migration of its hosted service from PortaOne Procinctus MR40-5 to MR45-6-1
The work was completed on schedule at 6 am on Sunday May the 8th. Since that time, all of ICC’s 50 + Hosted Active SoftSwitch Partners have been using the new (interim LTS) software.
CTO Devrin Cakali said “…. things went fairly smoothly for most of our Partners, though we did have some unforeseen issues, particularly in the way that the new “Realm settings” affected some partners, but generally things were busy, but fairly calm. We also had a lot of “how to” tickets on the new features…”
He added “...The team performed well under the usual pressure of a small hours upgrade and I have to praise those who worked for most of the night for 2 nights running to ensure there had been plenty of testing by Monday morning …”
The move was originally planned for last Autumn, but was delayed so that ICC’s partners could have extra time to overcome the payment gateway issues that were created following the mandatory introduction of token payment transactions in MR42. Porta were responding to tighter rulings around the storage of card information by the vendor and the new MR42 feature “Recurring Payments Without Storing Credit Card Info” manages the problem.
Now that MR45 has been reached, Devrin plans to complete the next migration, to MR50, at the end of May.
ICC is also approaching the end of its ongoing upgrade from Active SoftSwitch v3 to v4 which has already happened for most partners and should be completed for the rest, by the early hours of the 14th May.
Further articles will be published covering the new features in Releases MR41 to MR45 and then in MR46 to MR50.
