ICC has announced the improvement of the Porta User Interface following a recent change in the configuration of Active SoftSwitch, by further splitting out the Web User interface traffic from the API traffic and upgrading hardware.

The standard Porta deployment would typically use a single server for the three services; accessing the Porta Web interfaces, using the API and hosting the Database for these services. This is perfectly adequate for most types of PortaOne installations but our service has always been split between the Web Server (for WEB UI and the API access) and the DB Server.

As ICC does not limit the usage of Porta API, some of our partners that utilise the Porta API can put additional load on this server, so it has become logical to further split the traffic so that each service has its own server.

Whilst adding another server we have also taken the opportunity to upgrade the existing two servers, so the new set-up is improved as follows; New Web Server for the Web UI, upgraded API Server for all API requests and upgraded DB Server for DB queries. This has greatly improved performance and User Experience and we are now rebalancing this improvement across all partner services…. so, feedback welcome, we hope you like the new service!

From Today you can access the new porta Interface by changing your porta web access address to https://pb.activesoftswitch.com:8449. If you would like your domain to be moved to the new server, please open a support ticket to request this migration. Please keep in mind that on this new server, all API services are disabled. If you have code talking to Porta API, you can update your code to talk to https://slave.icc-porta.com:8449/.
